Changing Accounts With Your Go Daddy Domain
Is this you?
Your daughter’s old soccer team has a catchy domain name registered. Last season you were the go-to guy for the domain and it’s registered in your Go Daddy account. This year, no soccer…now it’s ballet lessons, but that blasted domain is still in your account. Can you gracefully pass the domain on to the next guru?
Or this?
You sold your domain name. The new owner says they want to use Go Daddy too. Can you move this domain to the new owner and still leave its registration at Go Daddy?
How about this one?
You have two Go Daddy accounts – one for your small business and one for your personal stuff. The business account didn’t exist when you first registered your company’s domain name. Can you move it to the business account where everything else is set up?
And, the ultimate snag…
Your company’s domain name was registered by your IT guy in his Go Daddy account. He’s long gone and the domain is about to expire. Can you gain control of this domain and renew it?
Yes, yes, yes, and YES! It's called a Change of Account. This procedure moves a domain from one Go Daddy account to another.
First, start the move from your account and indicate where the domain is headed (either a specific Go Daddy account or an email address) and then, from the new account, accept the move – it’s like a handshake. As the acceptance completes, the domain is canceled from the first account and activated in the second. Note: If you do not have access to the account where the domain currently resides (like the case with your IT guy!) , contact us – we may be able to initiate the move for you.
Remember, free products associated with the domain (like email, hosting, blogs) will not move although you can elect to retain the domain's current name servers. Domain enhancements (privacy, protection) don't move either – in fact, they must be canceled before the move. There’s no refund for the canceled services, but the free credits will be available in the new account once the move completes. Give us a call if you have several associated products set up – we can guide you.
There’s a time limit! Once you start the process, the domain must be accepted into the new account within 10 days or the process times out and you have to start again. If you purchased protection for the domain, it has to be removed before you can begin the process. We can help you with that – give us a call!
One final caution: If your domain is a ccTLD (like .co.uk or .ca) there may be restrictions or different procedures to follow. Call us and we’ll walk you through!

I have an Office Live and a Googles site domaine.
How do I find out if they are with GoDaddy?
How do I get them to lead to my godaddy site?
Thank you
Brendan

If you're trying to forward these domains, since they're registered through another registrar, you'll need to contact the registrar(s) for instructions on their forwarding process. If you're trying to host them on your account with us, there are two steps:
- They must be assigned to the hosting account.
- Their name servers must be updated to point to your hosting account.
Details on both steps can be found here.If these steps don't help you, give our support line a call (480-505-8877) so they can look into your specific situation and get you going. They're available 24x7!

I have just move my domain name to new account dan want to retrieve the domain name from new account. There are questions about Transaction ID and Security Code about the account changing which I don't have or I do not know where I have. I checked at both emails (old registrant dan new registrant email) and still could not find it. Can you give me a fast help? Thanks a lot.

Whether or not you’ll receive a transaction ID and security code depends upon how the Account Change was initiated. If the Change specified the exact Go Daddy account where the domain was headed, the email you receive won’t have those codes and you should be able to ‘see’ the domain in the new account – under Pending Account Changes in the Domain Manager. The instructions here will show you how to accept it into the new account. You can also re-send the email by logging into the original account, going to the Domain Manager, choosing Pending Account Changes from the Domains menu, selecting the domain, and clicking on Resend Email. If you continue to have trouble, give our support line a call (480-505-8877) – they’re available 24x7 to help you out!

Thanks for your question. We do not offer dynamic DNS services, so all DNS updates must be made through the Total DNS control link in the Domain Manager (for domains registered and hosted or parked with us) or the DNS Manager link from the Hosting Control Center (for domains hosted with us but registered elsewhere).

Does Godaddy support free to change primary domain?

Thanks for the excellent question! There is no charge to change the primary domain on a paid hosting account. If the hosting account is not secured by an SSL, the process is simple. Assuming the new domain is not currently hosted, see our Help Center article on managing your hosting account domains for instructions on changing your primary hosted domain. There are also instructions for hosting your old domain as a secondary on your hosting account, if you want to do that too. Your hosting account must be Deluxe or Unlimited to host multiple domains. If you don't have a Deluxe or Unlimited account and would like to upgrade, our article Upgrading your Hosting Account will assist you. Give us a call (480-505-8877) if you need more info or help.
